A PM’s Roadmap to Offshore Wind Success

Ways of Working

Navigating Complexity in the Renewable Energy Revolution

Offshore wind energy is rapidly emerging as a cornerstone of the global transition to sustainable power. However, delivering these large-scale, multidisciplinary projects requires more than just technical expertise demands strategic project leadership, rigorous planning, and agile execution.

Join us for an engaging and insightful session that delves into the pivotal role of Project Managers in driving the success of offshore wind projects. This event will offer a practical roadmap to help project managers navigate the unique challenges of offshore wind development—from regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement to risk mitigation and digital transformation.

Managing an offshore wind project from site screening through to the end of the warranty period involves progressing through a structured series of gate stages. Each stage presents distinct challenges, opportunities, and decision points that shape the project’s technical, commercial, and strategic direction.

From the initial evaluation of potential sites—balancing environmental constraints, grid access, and logistical feasibility with financial viability—to the later phases of construction, commissioning, and warranty, project managers play a critical role in ensuring alignment across schedule, budget, and quality. Effective governance, risk management, and interface coordination are essential throughout.

Market dynamics further influence project execution. Regulatory frameworks, supply chain maturity, and infrastructure readiness vary significantly across regions such as Europe, Asia, and the Americas. As a result, project managers must tailor procurement and execution strategies to optimize Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) outcomes.

Compared to onshore wind, offshore projects face unique complexities: larger turbines, intricate marine logistics, and higher capital expenditures. While onshore projects benefit from more standardized construction processes, they often contend with tighter land-use constraints and permitting timelines.

This webinar will explore how strategic project management across all gate stages can transform challenges into opportunities—enabling informed decision-making, cost optimization, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Participants will gain actionable insights into how robust governance, market intelligence, and lifecycle integration contribute to successful project delivery—from initial site screening to the close-out of the warranty phase.
