Q4 - 2018 Newsletter
EPMO, Approaches and Challenges
Tuesday, 18 December 2018
Dear Project Professionals,
In this number of PMI Denmark’s newsletter we put a bit of focus on EPMOs. You can read articles about our PMI events and free-for-members webinars, as well as read articles from our partners about their initiatives and views on the EPMO.
Again in 2019 PMI Denmark Chapter will offer free CAPM training for selected young project professionals. PMI Denmark is working on preparing these CAPM trainings, and therefore we are looking for several people who in spring 2019 want to help out as CAPM trainers for young professionals in areas such as: General Introduction to Project Management, Project Procurement Management and Project Stakeholder Management. Should you be interested in helping out, then you can read more about this opportunity in an article in this newsletter and you can reach out to us on this mail. Remember... good things happen when you get involved with PMI!
As the year 2018 is coming to an end we also here want to look back on the year that has passed. 2018 was yet another successfull year for PMI Denmark chapter. We managed to arrange 10 events in the Copenhagen area, produce and edit 4 large newsletters, offer free CAPM training, continue the PMI Denmark Young Professionals initiative including arranging 3 company visits, and get a good start on the planning of the full day PMI Denmark Chapter conference on 4th of April 2019. We can see that the number of members grow and that the satisfaction with the chapter is growing as well, but none of this would of couse be possible without all of our members and volunteers. So, the PMI Denmark board wants to use this chance to say a big thank you to all volunteers and members for all the good work in 2018!
Merry Christmas and happy New Year!
The PMI Denmark Board

Q4_2018 Sponsor´s Article: The Enterprise PMO is dead! Well sort of...
Written by; Jens Pind and Anthony Bone
More and more companies are beginning to implement Strategic Management Offices or Transformation Management Offices instead of an Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), why is that? Well one key element of this is Agile. Companies and organizations alike what to be agile, flexible, able to deal with change in an ever changing, fast-paced global climate. They see an EPMO as rigid, formal, and structured which in most cases are the direct opposite attributes of a truly agile organization correct? Well maybe not! In this article let’s explore some of the concepts that are important to remember about project management techniques and why elements of an EPMO are still appropriate and valuable for your Strategic or Transformation Management Offices to incorporate.

Q4_2018 Giving back – Your opportunity to shine
For the last two years the Danish PMI chapters has been providing free of charge CAPM training for young professionals. Young professionals are people just finish or finished their degree recently, so this really matters. Now more than 50 participants have completed the course and provided them with a great introduction to PMI and their working career. The training is conducted by PMI chapter members strictly on voluntary basis.
Right now, we are looking for more seasoned PMI professionals who would take part. Taking part meaning that you need to prepare the training, likely one knowledge area and conduct the training which may take a few hours. The trainers are seasoned PMI professionals not professional trainers. We have trainers who will guide you and partners to train with, so you are not all alone. The requirements are simple, a PMI certification and spring 2019 the time to put in the effort. We promise you in return a great opportunity to learn and meet an amazing group of young professionals. This is your opportunity to share your knowledge and give back. Contact us for more details on email@example.com
