Q1_2018 Introduction
Dear readers,
In Q1 2018 PMI Denmark had its General Assembly in Kulturhuset on Islands Brygge, including both a secret speaker and a nice dinner afterwards at restaurant Au Bistrot. This time the General Assembly also included approving new bylaws, and the election of a bigger and stronger board than ever before. The event went very well, and in this newsletter you can both see pictures and read more about the General Assembly and the dinner.
In the coming quarter (Q2) PMI Denmark will focus on Agile. We have an event on the 26th of April with Kristian Haugaard who will talk about scaling agile under the headline “Can big be beautiful?”. You can read more about the event on the PMI Denmark website here. Please remember to sign up for the event as usual. More Q2 events on Agile will be published in the weeks to come.
In April PMI Denmark offers for the first time CAPM training for a group of 25 young professionals and students. This is an exciting new initiative in alignment with the new 2020 strategy. The training starts in the beginning of April, so you can expect to hear more in the next newsletter. If it goes well, PMI Denmark will consider whether to continue it on a more regular basis.
With all the ambitious initiatives that are being started, there is always the need for fellow PM's who want to help with writing newsletter articles, plan and manage events, find speakers for conferences, etc. Should you be interested in any of this, then reach out to PMI Denmark on info@pmi-dk.org and remember that good things happen when you get involved with PMI 😊.
Enjoy the reading! Best regards, The PMI Denmark Board

Q1_2018 Trends, Tailoring, Agile adaptions and all That Jazz
Written by Klaus Nielsen
Late 2017 PMI publish the sixth edition of the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) which is PMI's flagship publication and is a fundamental resource for effective project management in any industry. This time the PMBOK® Guide – Sixth Edition was supplemented by the Agile Practice Guide. The development of a new PMBOK® Guide is often associated with learning new processes, renaming knowledge areas and a bunch of new tools and techniques which also was the case with the PMBOK® Guide - Sixth edition which have been covered in earlier newsletters and so forth however this time changes were far more far reaching. I remember reviewing the new PMBOK® Guide - Sixth edition back in 2015 and was thinking, Yes Go PMI but without spoiling too much the PMBOK® Guide - Sixth edition did not go all the way but it’s a journey.
