PMI Denmark Chapter equip young professionals with Project Management body of knowledge
By Elena Farne’
A breeze of positive initiative has been blowing in the PMI DK Chapter this spring: during this quarter a group of experienced volunteers have provided a free 23-hours course to a selected group of young professionals. The sessions aim to provide the Project Management knowledge at the basis of the CAPM certification.
The seven sessions covered all the staples of Project Management and the 13 chapters of the PMBOK, spanning from Integrations and Scope, passing on Schedule, Cost, Quality and Resource, and all the way to Procurement and Stakeholders’ management.
It is impressing to see how busy professionals have been keen in taking up the challenge and passed on the “baton of PMI knowledge” to an international group of 38 participants. All of them obtained a certificate of attendance and one third is targeting the CAPM exam in the near future.
The success of this initiative is confirmed by the positive response of the participants; Nada Alkis says: “I was honoured to be selected among the applicants for project management course by PMI Young Professionals - Denmark Chapter that was in the period between March and May 2018.
Many thanks for all volunteered PM professionals who gave their time and shared their knowledge. It was a great inspiration to experience knowledge transfer. I am very satisfied and highly recommend this course.”
Thanks to the participants for the warm enthusiasm, our group of engaged volunteers for organizing and executing another great initiative and to FLSmidth, Ramboll and Ferring for hosting these eager practitioners.
We will be looking forward to seeing whether there is the interest and possibility to repeat and expand this pilot course and we appreciate suggestions and feedback.
