Another great event organized by the PMI DK Chapter took place at Rambøll premises in Ørestad, Copenhagen.
Cultural awareness in global project management was brought in focus in a workshop format leveraging on the daily experience of the PM crowd gathered for the event.
Susan Salzbrenner and Katrina Wedholm- Marshall from Implement Consulting Group introduced challenges deriving from cultural gaps and facilitated the break-out sessions. During this group work, participants learned how to build cultural sensitivity and awareness which can be translated into cultural Intelligence, a new concept introduced during the evening.
The participants discussed their experience as PM’s in global settings, explored best practices, and evaluated team dynamics with the perspective and insights (knowledge) provided by the facilitators.
The second part of the event focus on exchanging experiences on working with a multicultural team and especially on managing projects virtually, where depending on the specific team characteristics (strategy) Project Managers can also make wise use of technology and working techniques to increase interaction among team members, common understanding and interaction (action).
The enthusiasm and cooperation established among the participants led to a very interactive session where several project managers expressed the wish to keep contact with the community and continue the dialogue on Project Management.
PMI Chapter Denmark would like to thank Susan and Katrina and the attendees for an engaging evening and a special thanks to Rambøll for supporting this event.
