Perhaps the biggest buzzword in business today is “transformation,” such as the attention and effort being given to digital transformation, workplace transformation and cultural transformation in most organizations today. But many organizations fail to define what “transformation” really means in terms of what is being transformed. And, organizations also haven’t given enough time and consideration to the people who actually have to implement the changes required for organizational transformation.
In this discussion, we will explore what transformation really means, what (or who) is really being transformed (or isn’t), and the human landscape that needs to be navigated to produce meaningful and useful organizational change. The new frontier in organization transformation is the human being, NOT technology, culture or process innovation. As such, we will discuss how we humans not only facilitate organizational change, but also how we act unwittingly as obstacles to the very change we seek. Ultimately, we will lay out a framework for developing the adaptive leader- someone who has transformed their own mindset- and who can act as an appropriate leader of real organizational transformation.
